What Changed My Life

Life can change in an instant.

Mine did.

After building a successful speaking career around my book Drive Yourself Happy, I discontinued my professional travels and took 2 years off. It was not the ideal time, yet the perfect moment.

I was not sipping some exotic drink on a beach somewhere warm and beautiful, but instead I felt compelled to make myself available to my grandnephew, Connor, barely two. It felt necessary to me to serve him and his family as they maneuvered Connor’s healing journey after he was abruptly diagnosed with A. L. L. leukemia.

Connor is now almost five, and at this moment is cancer free, however I will never be the same, and learned in an unforgettable way that every day is precious.

I have long been aware that we can be happy regardless of our circumstances, however, through this experience I have irrefutable evidence that joy is possible amidst unlikely circumstances such as these. Because of Connor my work… no, my life has shape-shifted. I know what matters most and the quality of my speaking, mentoring, and life choices have deepened and expanded.

I now insist that my work leaves room for the unexpected, and be designed with flexibility that allows me to honor the needs of my family and friends. I prefer to serve those who are ready to live fully, love deeply, and access a deeper part of who they are. Knowing how fragile life can be, I choose to play with those who understand this.

Because of the lessons I have learned through Connor’s journey, I follow my intuition, go where I am called, speak about things that are dear to my heart, and mentor those wanting to awaken fully to the power of the present moment.

I want to be involved in creating joyful and conscious connections wherever I go, and act authentically to make every moment meaningful, no matter what I do.

Parker and BrodySince Connor’s recovery, one of my grandsons has been diagnosed with autism. and another with ADHD. I take my role as ‘Grandma Tutu seriously, and so another important journey begins. I have chosen to be active in their care, act as their advocate, and show up as a channel of education and awareness about the needs of kids challenged by these unique circumstances. I continue to be inspired by these little people and those who love them.

They inspire me. I am compelled to creatively generate prosperity to fuel my philanthropic passions and do my part to make this world a healthy place for them, and all of us.

I would be delighted to co-create with you a keynote or workshop,  act as your mentor-coach, create an innovative joint venture, or tailor my message and information to best meets the needs of you, or your group, circle, corporation, or organization. Let’s ‘color outside the lines’ together.
